The place was located in the great Badlands National Park in South Dakota which I visited last week.
From the outside it conveyed an impression of the inside of an hourglass: as fragile and vast as sandcastles. But looking at it from this point of view made me realize that nothing can beat the feeling of seeing those pyramid-shaped mountains for the first time, it was such a surreal experience. I must say 6pm is the perfect time to take a picture like that, in fact seeing those vivid colors dripping from the sky made the atmosphere feel even lighter…
While this elongated scenery continued on for miles and miles away, I couldn’t help but feel so small as if these deep curves were enveloping me to merge with the earth.
